I specialize in translating patents and legal documents from Korean to English, and hold a variety of relevant legal and linguistic credentials, including a law degree and a professional Korean-English certification from the Korean Society of Translators.  I also hold professional certifications in translation from a number of additional languages into English. If you are interested in working with me on a translation project, you can contact me here, or leave me a voicemail at +1-312-970-0844.

More about my patent translation credentials: I have passed the Fundamentals of Engineering Examination (Other Disciplines) and the Patent Registration Examination. I have ten years of experience in the patent translation field.

I recently graduated with honors from Valparaiso University Law School in the United States. I am a proud  graduate of Shimer College, where I had my first serious encounters with linguistic thought and also studied German, Attic Greek, and Japanese. I also hold a master’s degree in applied linguistics, and have done post-baccalaureate coursework in chemistry and biology. I am a native speaker of English.

When I’m not translating, I like to research linguistic aspects of patent law and follow legal news in the countries of my source languages (which include Korean, German, Danish, Swedish, French, Portuguese, Italian, and Croatian).  You may find some posts on those topics on my blog.
